Ingredients

Toor dal 1/2 cup
Garlic 5 cloves
Shallots 3 tbsps
Red chili powder 1tsp
Salt to taste
Water

For grinding

Coconut 1/2 cup
Garlic 5
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder 1/2 tsp

Tempering
Oil 2 tsps
Ghee 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Red chili 1
Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
